5 Healthier Recipe Ideas for 4th of July

July 4th is literally tomorrow and I bet a good amount of you are going to some kind of event. Do all of you have the dish in mind that you will bring? If the answer is no, we are here for you! July 4th is for relaxing, catching up with family and friends, and usually consuming food and alcohol. At most of these events, be it party, BBQ, whatever, there will certainly be lots of food. And a good amount of it will not be healthy. And you know here at Hungry & Fit, we are fine with living it up. But what it’s all about is moderation.

So, we have come up with a list of 5 Hungry & Fit healthier (but still very tasty) recipes that you can whip up and bring to your event. Your friends and family will be impressed that you made it yourself and didn’t just buy from the store! We’ve brought you a mix of savory and sweet dishes perfect for this American holiday. You can thank me in advance for saving you some recipe-scouring time.

1. Cannoli Dip

Really in a rush but still want to bring something impressive? THIS CANNOLI DIP IS YOUR ANSWER. Look how beautiful it is! Literally, all you need to do is mix sugar and ricotta and then top with red white and blue stuff. And despite this being one of the easiest recipes ever, it was a huge hit at my last July 4th party. Make it. Take pics. Send them to us! Nom.

2. Stuffed Strawberries

This is probably my favorite 4th of July recipe. It speaks volumes with its beautiful red-white-and-blue colors, it’s light, and healthy. It’s a crowd pleaser despite it being mostly fruit! It’s a little time-intensive because you need to scoop out the strawberries and fill them in, but that’s about it. This would be my top recommendation out of all these recipes!

3. Red, White, and Blue Cookies

Are you sensing a color theme here? Hmm. This cookie recipe is healthified by lowering the sugar amount and reducing the fat. They are scrumptious cookies that will get devoured at your party event. You can whip them up in under thirty minutes too.

4. Kale Dip

I know, I know–kale dip? Sounds gross. It ain’t! Give it a chance. It’s creamy and full of garlic flavor. It will balance the entire bag of chips you’ll probably eat tomorrow. All you really need to do for this one is cook the kale and stir in the garlic and greek yogurt. Healthy and delicious.

5. Fresh Avocado Tomato Salad

This could be my only meal forever and I would be okay with that. There is a perfect balance to the fattiness of the avocado with the acidity of the tomatoes. IT’S REALLY GOOD. And easy to make. You can eat it like a salad or use it as a dip. It is sure to freshen up any buffet of party.

And that wraps up that. If you use any of these recipes, I can guarantee you’ll get praise. You could even make one of the dessert AND one of the savory and be the hero of the day. Surprise them all. Feed them all. Anyhow, I hope that we could help you in finding a healthy alternative to bring to your 4th of July festivities! And as always, stay hungry and fit!
