Our Blog’s Guest Post Guidelines

While our blog is far from the height of its popularity, we receive dozens of requests every single week for guest posts. For those of you who don’t know, a guest post is a pre-written article that we publish on the blog for a fee. They’re provided by anyone from a freelancer to a marketing agency to a representative or even founder of a company. We’ve published so many of them that I’ve lost count, but we say no to far more than 90% of those requests.

Despite our success with guest posts, we’ve had many issues over the years. The most common issue is that we’ve published articles and didn’t receive payment as agreed. As a result of the issues we’ve encountered, we’ve developed some guidelines that need to be followed. Even though we discuss these in email, there are always complications. Therefore, we’ve opted to post them here as well. It doesn’t hurt to have this information in more places.

  1. All content must be paid for before it is published.
  2. Guest posts have a publishing fee.
  3. All content, including the title and any links in the article, must be approved by us before we agree to publish it.
  4. There needs to be disclosure that it is a paid-for guest post.

If there are issues with any of our guidelines, please do not reach out to us.

Here are answers to some commonly asked questions from partners.

  1. The links are do-follow links.
  2. There is no minimum or maximum word count.
  3. There is no limit to the number of links included.
  4. The article will organically stay on the home page with our publishing schedule.
  5. The article will remain on the site indefinitely, as long as your account with us in balanced.

The guest posts are sent out to our subscriber base and shared on our social media, as if they were not a guest post. As we mentioned, we only approve of a fraction of requests. We feel that they are beneficial to our readers so we want to share them.

There are also sponsored post, product review and campaign opportunities available. Reach out to us to discuss the details for those options.

As always, stay hungry and fit!
