Tavolino’s is Open!

No need to add any fluff to this one; we’re getting right to the point. Tavolino’s, one of our favorite spots in New Orleans, is open for take-out. They re-opened yesterday and we were there to greet them. Alana has been craving their goods for quite some time and I don’t think anyone can blame her. They make some of the best pizza in the city, their drink selection is one-of-a-kind, and the atmosphere is hard to match. They have a few socially distanced tables available out front, but take-out was the most popular option, according to our observations last night.

We’ve basically had everything on their menu, so we just opted for some favorites. You can see their Red Goat Pizza (without the salami) and their Funghi pizza in the pictures. We rounded our meal out with a large caesar salad, dough knots with a honey truffle dipping sauce, a super fancy Rose Lemonade soda and a quart of Sangria for Alana. We rolled away before walking the levee along the might Mississippi before a few side stitches put me out of order. I could’ve blamed the bugs, but let’s be honest.

This post isn’t our official review of one of our favorite spots in the city. We’ve only eaten at about 200 different restaurants since moving here last year so we can’t throw out our top 10 quite yet, especially during the quarantine. It is a celebration of an amazing part of a great community surviving hard times and being welcomed back by everyone that loves them. Their warm service and incredibly enjoyable food has created a loyal fan base and we were glad to see such a strong turnout last night, even if it meant a longer wait for us.

Please continue to support similar businesses in your community. We can all make it through this together. Stay hungry and fit!

(Note: Their official name is Tavolino Pizza & Lounge. We’ve always called them Tavolino’s. Oops.)
