This Month on Hungry & Fit

November is upon us and in many parts of the United States, temperatures are finally starting to drop a bit. Last night, it was in the 40s here in New Orleans, which led to a lot of trick-or-treaters staying indoors. We still had about forty kids come by and yes, despite being healthy, we don’t see a major problem with Halloween. It is one night.

From a health standpoint, there are a few things worth mentioning for November. First, keep an eye out for no-shave November, which has an offshoot called Movember. You can read more about it here, but it is for men’s cancer awareness. Second, watch your caloric consumption for the next three to four weeks as we move into Thanksgiving and the heavy holiday season. Third, be mindful of these changing temperatures and the toll that thermoregulation has on your body. Lastly, consider training for and being a part of a Turkey Trot at the end of the month. This will help keep you consistent moving into the holiday season.

Talk about caloric consumption…

Last month on the blog, we published twelve articles. Unfortunately, ten of them were guest posts, one was semi-sponsored and only one was truly organic. When we started the blog, we had no intention of making money off it, but seeing as we’re very busy lately, we’ve been taking on more guest posts, which are paid. The two highlights posts of last month are here and here

This month on the blog we’ve got some great content coming your way. We’re partnering up with Adidas to bring attention to the dilemma with young female athletes. We’re also introducing a new and intriguing protein bar brand to you. On a more personal side, we’re going to tell you about our move to New Orleans… five months late. We’re also going to share about how crazy life has been with this large home that was full of puppies for two months

At home, we’ll continue working on the garden. The peppers are starting to grow! The jalapenos should be edible soon. We’re also going to be finishing up lighting in the gym so that we can film and publish workout content. Right now, even though we can train in the gym, the lighting is too poor for any video of photos.

Fit is going to be working on her novel writing this month, as well as her NASM re-certifcation. Hungry is heading to Chicago for a week to attend an in-depth Sports Nutrition School. He will share a lot about that experience since it is being provided by the largest nutrition brand in the world. We’ll also prepare the house for family visiting for Thanksgiving.

Share what your plans for the month are in the comment section below. Stay busy; stay hungry and fit!
