Division 3: LA Restaurant Review

Next up on our must-visit restaurants of Los Angeles, we visited a breakfast joint! We went to Division 3 which is a tiny hole-in-the-wall place in Hollywood. It was suggested by Alton Brown, a culinary great we have followed, respected, and admired for a long time. He said the biscuits were to die for, of something of that vein, so we decided…we must try it!

Division 3 has a really great atmosphere. It’s small, but decorated well. There’s good music playing and you can see the chefs in the back. There are a bunch of portraits of dogs doing human-like things. The menu is written in artistic chalk. We were excited to get some grub.

Unfortunately, the biscuits weren’t that great. Maybe it was because we didn’t come right early in the morning, but that shouldn’t matter. The food was pretty gluttonous. The other dishes we got were: french toast in a cup, hotlinks & homefries, and a cheesy hash brown sandwich. For drinks, we got a Bundaberg soda and an iced chai latte

The french toast was delicious, but it was just too small. The hotlinks and homefries didn’t have much flavor, it basically all tasted the same. Both of those dishes came in what looked like a big ice cream cup. The cheesy hashbrown sandwich was gluttonous and delicious, however, the texture only lasted for a minute or so. It’s basically a sandwich and instead of bread, it was hashbrowns with a cheesy egg in the middle. Like I said–gluttonous. So greasy. So delicious. I actually didn’t eat again until that night. But, because it was so greasy, it ended up mushing toward the end. The chai was okay.

The price was a little high for how little everything was. It definitely didn’t put a dent in Hungry’s stomach (though of course mine was plenty full)

All in all, we unfortunately probably won’t go back. It wasn’t good enough for the price and we just weren’t impressed with the food to come back. However, I encourage you to take a go and check it out to see if you like it. It’s worth a try for their creative dishes. As always, stay hungry and fit!
