The SEO for this post isn’t going to be very strong, and while it might not get the most search result views, it contains a message that is extremely important to us at the Hungry & Fit blog… thank you!
This is, we believe, the 1200th article/post that has been published on this website/blog and while it might not be a landmark number like 1000th or 2000th, we’re always looking for the opportunity to celebrate. Also, we’re always looking for the chance to try to infuse a little bit of what the blog started as… lots of fun!
We’ll return to our normal schedule of recipes, tips for staying healthy, workouts and other ways to enhance your lifestyle tomorrow, but today, we want to focus on just how far we’ve come… thanks to all of you! Hungry & Fit started as a personal blog but grew quickly, and that really was the result of the love we received from our readers. We weren’t skilled bloggers and still have much to learn, but you’ve really carried us and motivated us to keep the blog going.
We know it might not sound like a lot, but we recently passed (if these stats are correct, and I’m not even sure if they include our numbers from before our switch form WordPress.com to WordPress.org) 982,000 views. We know that a YouTube video can easily pull 1,000,000 views in an hour, but an independent blog (that puts nothing into marketing) receiving that many readers in an era where written content is fading fast, feels like a huge accomplishment.
Not only that, but our lives have only gotten busier since we started the blog. As you might have read a few weeks ago, we have tons of other projects going on, the most exciting of which is Alana’s massive writing adventure. Throw a fifth animal (baby squirrel) into the mix and add some other significant life changes, and we’re at our wit’s ends most days.
Thankfully, we have all of your support and it pushes us every day to keep doing what we do. Just yesterday, the protein powder recommendation article was written in response to a specific request from a reader. Even if one life has been changed for the better in these 1200 articles, we’re glad we went through this. Plus, it is a ton of fun to look back through our media folder (old pictures) on our WordPress dashboard and check out all of our fun memories from the past (nearly) six years on the blog.
Oh, and stay hungry and fit!
