2016’s Best Pre-Workout

You might remember 2015’s Best Protein Powder and 2015’s Best Dog Food. Reviews.com has published a new study where they tested 309 different pre-workout supplements to find the best product on the market. We’ll give you the very abridged version and let you read the article here for yourself. Essentially, they used a filtration system to narrow down the big number through process of elimination. They would remove anything with banned/potentially harmful substances, then proprietary blends, then a certain amount of caffeine, then any artificial flavors/colors to figure out the cleanest product.

We will say that we have only heard of one of the final three products that they chose and while their study and end results do not necessarily reflect how we feel, we’ve always enjoyed their approach. We’re not fans of proprietary blends, artificial flavors/colors, and banned substances, but sometimes the most effective product might have some “potentially harmful” ingredients. There are still so many unknowns out there, untested results over time, that we can’t be certain what yields the greatest results.

While we’re not suggesting you adopt the mindset of high risk, high reward or telling you to play it safe and avoid substances that could be potentially harmful, we want to give you as much information as possible to make your best decision. If you do have specific questions about any pre-workout supplements our resident supplement specialist will be happy to answer. The choice is ultimately yours and the more resources and tools you have (reliable ones at least), the better chance you’ll find a healthy way to live a hungry and fit lifestyle!
