2020 has been a whirlwind of a year for all of us. Some were, unfortunately, hit much harder than others and we’ve all had to adapt to uncertainty. It has given many us a chance to spend less time with some, and more time with others. It has given all of us the chance to spend more time with ourselves. While that has been a curse for some, it has been a blessing for others. 2020 has provided some of us the chance to hit the reset button and finish old goals, start new projects, and lighten our load.
That is the case over here at Hungry & Fit HQ. While we certainly could have been more productive, especially on the blog, we’re finishing the year strong with a much overdue project. This task is more of an audit than anything else. This is where we go behind the scenes with you! We’ve been WordPress as our content management system since day one. Over the years, there are guest posts and sponsored content that are created in a day. There are rave restaurant reviews that are finished within a week. There are all kinds of successes, from the most random movie reviews to recipes. Unfortunately, not everything moves quickly and this is where we find the “Draft” folder.
Before today’s LONG OVERDUE audit of our drafts, we had 111 works in progress. Those dated all the way back to 2016. (The blog started in 2012.) I think it is safe to say that my last audit was probably in 2016 or so. The 28 drafts that survived the cut go as far back as 2017 and as recent as today. We have ideas all the time. We eat out multiple times a week… pre pandemic. New recipes and workouts are developed daily, but clearly not everything makes the cut. Those 83 discarded drafts are articles that wouldn’t really help anyone. It wouldn’t help a restaurant or potential customers to know how Little Fatty in Los Angeles tasted three years ago.
We don’t want to focus on all of those lost ideas and the energy wasted on those drafts over the years. Instead, we want to keep it positive and optimistic. One of our goals is to catch up on all of those old drafts and publish them in 2021! Here is a sample of what you have to look forward to:
