Once upon a time, we posted a decent amount of content to YouTube. I think it was probably within the first year of us living in Los Angeles, while we lived in our apartment in Koreatown. Years later and it is one form of social media that we really stopped using as an outlet for content, which is unfortunate because it is one of my favorites as a user, or subscriber. Well, we’re trying to change that now!
During a trip to our local grocery, Rouses, I saw some protein snacks that I’d never tried before. These snacks are classified in our industry as RTEs, or ready to eats, since you can just open the package and (hopefully) enjoy. RTEs started way back in the day with products like Tiger’s Milk bars, but now you can find protein chips, protein wafers, protein ice cream, etc.
We think that good RTEs are extremely valuable. While you should never really replace “real” food with supplements, it is extremely helpful to have nutritious and convenient snacks at your disposal. Knowing which ones are good and bad can be really useful, especially when you’re running into a gas station food mart in a rush.
Since supplements can often have terrible tastes and textures, it helps to know what you’re getting yourself into before you make the investment. Is anything worse than spending $4 on something, taking one bite, spitting it out and then throwing it in the trash?
