Bulu Box Review: Unique Health in a Box

I was thrilled when I was chosen to review a Bulu Box: who doesn’t love samples? What kind of samples, you ask? Well if you’re interested in this important thing called health, you may be interested. How often have you scoured about in magazines or online to find that exact product to fit your needs? Those organic, healthy items that you can’t find anywhere. Or maybe you just want to try something new, something to shake up your game, to give you a boost. It sounds like Bulu Box is for you.

Anima Pizza & Pasta

Right smack dab in the middle of Koreatown is Anima Pizza & Pasta, a restaurant that seems imported directly from Italy. It’s in walking distance of our apartment (think near Wilshire & Vermont) and we are so happy that it is! It’s actually in the same strip as another favorite restaurant of ours, so it’s twice the greatness. We discovered this gem late one night (think near 10pm) and we’ve been going back weekly ever since. The quality of the food far surpasses the dollar signs on their menu–it’s excellent food for a bargain.

Wiki Poki Review

As someone who grew up in the diner capital of the world, there’s some confusion when entering a restaurant that only serves one thing. Luckily, Wiki Poki also has miso soup. When you find an eatery that specializes in one particular delicacy, the execution of the dish has to be nearly flawless or success is unattainable. Just look at the fresh seafood that Wiki Poki uses to create their amazingly healthy and delicious containers of love. You walk in and out in no time with only $10 less than you entered with just a few minutes before. Secretly, I don’t want to write this glowing review because it will only lead to more traffic here and I want to keep it all to myself.

Hungry & Fit Food Truck Event!

This is monumental. When we created Hungry & Fit in July 2012, we didn’t expect it to go much further than a “hobby blog,” documenting our cross-country moves and life changes. We knew that we would use it as a platform for personal training (KING Physical Performance, which I started in 2007, turned into Hungry & Fit LLC) and while our goal was to help people become happier and healthier, we never expected it to come this far, with such a small team at an extremely low cost, but enough of that!

Indian Tofu Mushroom Curry

I don’t know about you, but Hungry and I love Indian food: the flavors, the different textures,  the unique combinations. In fact, it’s our most often ordered “take-out” or “take-away” as they say in New Zealand. What better to fill a grumbling tummy than a beautiful heaping plate of curry, rice, and naan? I’m drooling just thinking about it. SO when we had a block of tofu that needed using, I decided to go with an Indian style dish. It’s easy, it’s delicious, it’s nutritious: our favorite three. We hope you enjoy this Indian Tofu Mushroom Curry–inspired by Honest Cooking.

“Leftovers” Quiche Recipe

You ever have that time where you have vegetables that are about to go bad, but aren’t quite there? But you always seem to have an overflow of eggs? This happens fairly often in our apartment since we are always on the go. Luckily, I know just the recipe to solve this situation! When in doubt, make a quiche! This is a very easy recipe that doesn’t take much working time–and it’s great to make for the week!

Fuel Your Adventures

What are summers for? Adventures. Beach-bumming, camping, road trips, cookouts, picnics, backpacking, and so on. Are you getting excited yet? I am. Tastes of grilled cheeses, s’mores, sangria, burgers, and ice cream. Now, you must be getting excited. Summer adventures are the best: the remaining shades of sunburn on your skin tingling as the sun dips down into nightfall where family and friends galore get together for some grub. Everyone has their own summer dream and that’s what’s fun about it: with everyone’s differing ideas, you get to experience a little of everything.

Should Chefs Sweat the Small Stuff?

If you do a google search for the question we’ve presented in the title, you’ll get a huge range of answers from a simple yes to an emphatic no. There have been books written about it and just about every chef, critic, and food personality has an opinion on it. While I won’t go into depth about my own opinion,  I will point you in the direction of an article that we really loved. Typically, when we find someone else’s content that is high quality and should be shared, we do just that… share it. We’ll spread the link across our social media outlets including Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, Pinterest, etc. However, when we really love the content of an article, we’ll use the blog to share its greatness to you!
