Chocolate Chip Protein Cookies
I have tried recipe after recipe to find the perfect protein cookies. They often come out too dry, too cakey, or downright rubbery. We can’t have any of that! I have finally found a recipe that comes out well! Hoorah! These aren’t the healthiest, but they have significantly more protein than other cookies and less sugar and fat than other cookies. We’ll say it’s healthier. These puppies have 7g of protein a piece–pretty awesome for a cookie! It’ll be a crowd pleaser and they won’t even know that it’s healthier than normal. Careful of how long you keep in the oven, I left mine in a minute too long (as you may be able to see).
Blueberry Cashew Topping
We’re still eating clean for the most part over here at Hungry & Fit headquarters and that means getting creative when we have sweet tooths (teeth…). Hungry recently came up with this divine topping (or sauce) to put on breakfast or “desserts.” I was absolutely blown away when he served it to me atop a stack of Kodiak pancakes (healthy pancakes). I was like, well someone got carried away, is this still healthy? And guess what–it was! I was shocked when I learned the ingredients for this beautiful, delicious topping: blueberries and cashews were the main components. Each bite was like a slice of heaven–the cashews were just soft enough to ease into your mouth and melt while the blueberries soothed everything out. Okay, enough dreaming, let’s get to the real stuff!
- 2/3 cup blueberries
- 2/3 cup cashews
- 1/4 cup applesauce
- 1 tbsp brown sugar
- 1 tsp honey
- 1 tsp balsamic vinegar
- Roast the cashews with the honey
- Throw rest of ingredients in and simmer for 5 minutes
Peanut Butter Chocolate Protein Bars
Since I’ve been eating clean and getting into better shape, I need foods around the house to support that. That’s why I’ve been trying out different recipes and seeing how I can protein out of every little thing while keeping it clean. Protein bars! Often times, the store bought ones have stuff in them that you don’t necessarily want. So, why not make your own? I found this recipe and wanted to make a play on it. It was incredibly easy: put all ingredients into a bowl, mix, then put into the oven. I used my cinnamon cracker protein powder, but you can use any type! Why Breakfast, Lunch, and Dinner Don’t Exist Anymore
Breakfast, lunch, and dinner don’t exist anymore. Well, at least not in the world of fitness, or within more specific niches and communities in that world. Allow me to explain how I came to this conclusion. But before that, allow me to say this. I don’t plan or prep meals 99% of the time. I have been fortunate enough to always had visible abs and my eating style has always been the same. I eat like a wild animal in the way that I can go days without eating or eat 10,000 calories in one sitting. Almost anything is possible, still, take this to heart and mind.
From time to time, I’ll use My Fitness Pal to track my caloric intake. We all know that caloric surpluses and deficits are a key component to either gaining or losing weight. Depending on what you eat and how you exercise, that weight could either be fat and/or muscle. If you are fully committed and prioritize your weight-loss or weight-gain journey as more than important than enjoying what you eat, or if you don’t care what you eat, you’re going to make the most efficient progress. However, there are not so many who can maintain that dedication.
Chado Tea Room
My Nana passed away a little over a year ago and I wanted to celebrate her somehow. So, I started looking up places where the family could have high tea. After searching around a bit, I found Chado Tea. It was close by (we went to the Hollywood location), didn’t seem too pricey, and had good reviews. You may have seen some pictures from there in an earlier post. All in all, it was a good and fun experience.
Chocolate Peanut Butter Protein Cookies (No-Bake)
Could you have a better combination of words? Chocolate Peanut Butter Protein Cookies. Yum. Oh and don’t forget the no-bake part! What! I was so excited when I saw this recipe that I had to make my own variation! You may get that I’m excited due to the back-to-back exclamation points. This was an incredibly easy recipe. As I was putting it together, I kept thinking, is this really going to work? Spoiler alert: it worked and it’s damn delicious! There is no cooking time to these cookies and they are chock-full of protein! Often times, adding protein powder to baked goods can give them weird textures and flavors. Not this one! You wouldn’t even suspect that there was anything added to these cookies besides deliciousness.
