Tips for Morning Workouts

Listen, we understand: It can be really difficult to get your head — much less your body — up and out of bed in the morning. Sleep is difficult and sometimes even difficult sleep gets worse when you’re stressed by work or overscheduled with family activities or simply just stay up too late watching a movie. But you absolutely can and should rethink whether or not you want to continue avoiding working out in the morning, especially when you read about the benefits that it has.
   

Take food choices, for instance. The breakfast, lunch, and dinner selections you make throughout the day can be a whole lot healthier if you do that workout right away in the morning. You’ll also be much more alert and positive throughout your day and be able to handle the pressure of whatever life throws at you. Hungry’s New Morning Routine

Who wakes up before 8 am? Who wakes up before 7 am? 6 am? How about 5 am? I know that we have readers of all ages on the blog, and while everyone is unique, there are certain populations who tend to sleep in more than others. For as long as we’ve been together, our alarms are usually set for 5:30 am. We like to walk Noke before other people are outside and get our day started. Recently, a few changes have led me to set that alarm an hour earlier.

I’ve been waking up at 4:30 am.

The Early Bird DOESN’T Get the Worm

It’s never that simple. You’re giving the bird far too much credit. I know, I was the bird this morning and I failed to get all of the worms that surrounded me. How so? Here, I’ll tell you more. 

If there was $20 dollar bill on the ground, would you pick it up? What if it was caught in a breeze and you had to chase it down the street? What if there were five of them moving in different directions? Is all that effort worth the reward for you? Maybe it is and maybe it isn’t, but if you’re the bird and those bills are the worms, you don’t JUST get them.
