You might’ve noticed a little bit of an absence in the past week. That’s because we took a trip down to New Orleans (and around the South).
We started our journey in New Orleans
Did some workouts but did way more eating
The city has character
We ate a lot of beignets
I mean, a LOT
So much good (heavy) food. We ended up just having two meals a day, really

We took a four mile hike through the Jean Lafitte Swamp National Park– we saw eagles, otters, snakes, and more!

We traveled through Mississippi on our way to Alabama and saw a gorgeous Crane Refuge
First stopped at Mobile & Fairhope which we really enjoyed
GOOD food
Fun bookstores
Making friends
And guess what…
MORE beingets! in Alabama!
Traveled to Montgomery, Alabama to visit Civil Rights spots
Some vegetarian meals had meat in them…gotta love the South!
Back to New Orleans. Had our last dinner at a delicious fancy restaurant called Commander’s Palace

So glad you enjoyed Mobile and Fairhope! We live in Daphne, which you would have driven through to get from one to the other. Aren’t the lit up trees in downtown Fairhope just beautiful??!! Where did you guys eat while there? Looks like it was probably Fairhope, but I don’t recognize the mural in the photo off hand.
Such a beautiful area, with so many nice people! We’re recommending it as a hidden gem to family and friends, so we hope you like company!
