Body Composition Scan Review (BodySpec)

As we move further into the twenty-first century, there is a continuous flow of innovative ideas and products that challenge the consumer’s ability to judge right from wrong. Amongst the sea of marketing and media, it’s hard to tell what is the right product for you. In the fitness and supplement industry, there are hundreds of versions of a product, but each one claims to achieve the exact same result. How could you possibly tell right from wrong?

While we’ve reviewed some scales in the past and have used countless handheld methods for measuring aspects of body composition. There has always been too many brands creating too many products and when it comes down to the nitty-gritty, the consumer is usually willing to save a few dollars to get a cheaper version, or even skip the best model for faster shipping. Still, the risk of user error runs high as all the variables become challenging to remain constant and we’re left with questionable results.

If there was an $100,000 machine that accomplishes the same as a $40 product, you’d probably realize that either one is vastly superior to the other or it’s a total farce. In this case, after going myself and testing their services, it’s evident that BodySpec provides you with one of the most accurate and in-depth assessments of your body possible, at a reasonable price nonetheless. This company offers three services and while I haven’t had the opportunity to test their RMR and VO2 max tests (after I do, I’ll review those as well), I saw the value in their DXA Scan.

Before I show you the results, I want to let you know it’s a simple process and it’s pain-free if you can lay still for about 7 minutes. First, you sign up online after purchasing a credit and reserve a time, which are offered early in the morning and after standard work hours as well. After the scan, which is conducted in a private area where you don’t have to undress or worry about your personal belongings, a staff will explain the results. It can get scientific, but just ask for the meaning and they’ll be happy to explain. The whole process costs $45 and takes 20 minutes, but you find out a lot of great information about yourself.

As you can see on my scans, it gives you one of the most accurate body composition reports possible. It tells you about your body fat, lean muscle mass, bones, symmetry/balance, and much more. They tell you where your numbers fall in relation to the general population and if you’re at risk of certain conditions as a result. They don’t prescribe anything and refer you to your doctor, but do offer nutritional services to help you lose weight.

BodySpec offers amazing service on a great product, the DXA Scan, and I recommend anyone that access to one give it a shot. Knowing this information can help you create training programs and realistic goals. I found out some information that I didn’t even know about myself and if you have any questions about my results, let me know in the comment section below. Information is so important but information about yourself is crucial if you want to stay hungry and fit!
