Fitness & Wellness Job Opening

While this isn’t a job opening to work with Hungry & Fit, we wanted to share this opportunity for anyone already in the LA area or anyone interested in moving to the LA area, specifically Santa Monica. The Santa Monica YMCA is a beautiful facility located right in the center of downtown Santa Monica, blocks away from the Promenade, a Yasiel Puig home run away from the beach and boardwalk.

It’s a unique space that has a basketball court, racquetball courts, group exercise studios, indoor cycling, an old school free weight area, cardio machines, a gymnastics room, two pools, a hot tub, sauna, steam room, an area with mats and a heavy bag, and much more. It’s not your standard gym, but it has everything from an old school t-bar row to a Versa Climber. In my opinion, there is a lot that can be done with this space.

That is where you come into the situation. With your background in health and wellness, whether you’re a personal trainer, fitness coordinator, group exercise instructor, or facility manager, you can take this amazing space and the great people who come here and turn it into a facility that can compete with any 24 Hour Fitness, LA Fitness, Equinox, etc. Working for the YMCA is a rewarding experience since you have the opportunity to serve individuals that probably couldn’t afford to go anywhere else due to the financial assistance that the Y often provides.

Why are we telling you about this opening and not the hundred others in this area? Santa Monica is a part of our community and we often workout at this facility. We know the staff, the members, and the community and we want to see it grow even further. Most group exercise classes are taught by volunteers and the aquatic staff are loved by the members, who claim it’s one of the best pools in Los Angeles.

You can find the job listing here. You should act now and send in your resume since it won’t be up for long. It is full-time and non-exempt, which is nice if you’re just moving to LA or even still finishing up classes for your exercise science degree. If you have any questions about it, please feel free to comment below and we’ll try to help but we guarantee you that it will be a fun and rewarding challenge. Challenges are one sure way to stay hungry and fit!
