Enjoy the refreshing sweetness of a creamy and tasty Venezuelan Chicha

Rice is more than a staple food consumed by half of the world’s population. Affordability, easy cultivation, climate adaptability, and cooking versatility are just some features qualifying rice as the preferred grain of all.

Countless recipes where rice is the star are well-known worldwide. Its mild flavor makes it possible to use it in various dishes from the most common savory ones to incredible desserts.

Its versatility even allows creating delightful and refreshing drinks since its delicate flavor is the perfect base for pairing with herbs and other components.

You will be surprised by knowing the various rice drinks there are worldwide. You will be even more surprised to find out that you may have tried some of these drinks without perceiving rice among the ingredients.

Easy Vegan Golden Milk

Ever since I saw Minimalist Baker’s Golden Milk recipe, I had a hankering to try it. It just looked so inviting and warm with my favorite aromas wafting into the air. It also had a touch of the exotic to it and maybe made me think I would gain some special powers from it. So obviously…I whipped up my own version of Golden Milk! It was magical. The smoothness from the almond milk combined with the rich coconut milk makes it feel like a luxurious drink from some sort of fantasy world. The “exotic” spices transport you and the heat provides the ultimate comfort. I don’t really experiment with beverage recipes (except for my sangria), but after this one, I think will do so more.

Neuro: Drink with a Purpose

Sleep. Bliss. Sonic. Daily.

You wouldn’t typically think of these words when you’re thinking of beverages. Sure, there might be a few drinks that relate to one of those words, but no more than that. There is one exception though… neuro. You’ve probably seen it before in those vibrant colored bottles with an interesting shape to say the least.  Neuro’s relationship to these words could be the result of them being right there on the bottle as you’re drinking, or there might be a deeper and more meaningful reason.

Homemade Lemonade Recipe

Spring is in the air! Can you smell it? The flowers are blooming, the fruit is growing, and the sun is shining. Hooray at last! Although in Southern California, you can’t always tell what season it is, we know Spring is here because everything is blooming. With the start of Spring, comes the start of fresh fruit recipes. My mum has a lemon tree that grows fruit all year round. There are no pesticides or anything like that and there is a constant flow of huge lemons wanting to be used. She can’t consume lemons because of the acidity–but I sure can! I usually put her lemons in my water every morning for a refreshing start to the day.

While I was busy house sitting at my parents’ place last weekend, the sun was shining along with a gentle breeze and I decided that I should make lemonade. I don’t know why I’ve always been intimidated to make lemonade from scratch. I know now that making lemonade is easy and incredibly rewarding. Now, I like my lemonade tart. Sweet lemonade isn’t my cup of tea. So if you go searching for other lemonade recipes, you will find more sugar in them. Let’s get started!
