High End in Venice? (Barrique Review)

When you’re going out to have a nice, romantic meal for your 1-Year Anniversary, we weren’t expecting to be Hungry & Fit… just Alana & Chris, but we all know it can’t be that easy. If you put food in front of us, we’re probably going to return the plates to you clean, but we’re always going to have a strong opinion about what we just ate. We can’t help it!

You’ll notice that this review is missing something that we normally try to flood you with…our own photos. There are two reasons for that. First, we didn’t bring the fancy camera we use for our reviews. Second, it was extremely dark and every picture that I took with my phone was just blurry, no matter how many filters we applied. We could have used the flash for better results, but that would have taken away from the dining experience of the other guests, and when you’re paying this much for food, you expect an amazing dining experience. Bright lights flashing in your face isn’t the nicest way to enjoy a meal.

When I originally wrote out quick Yelp review for Barrique, I started high… mainly because there was this sense of… it was our anniversary dinner and we were so happy to be together, etc. As I started to think of everything we ate, those feelings faded and that mysterious veil disappeared. All that was left was the service, atmosphere and… the food. So, as always, let’s look at those factors and see just how high-end Barrique really is.

LA’s Best Burger and Fries? (Humble Potato Review)

It’s a very dangerous game at play when you declare that your goal is to go out to eat every week at a different place. Why? Because temptation. Desire. Lust, if you will. While fighting off all of those primal feelings, and avoiding ordering our favorite pizza, we ventured into areas surrounding Culver City to find new eateries. Why? Maybe we were feeling adventurous or maybe we thought we’d been slacking as food bloggers. Either way… this happened.

Stumble to Humble. I can’t remember how this happened. I think we were wandering around Washington, knowing that it is full of amazing eateries. While Humble Potato wasn’t on our list before, despite a very chilly meal there, it is now. Why? Because they have the best burger and fries in LA. But don’t take my word for it; we want you to go and tell us if you think we’re out of our minds. (We already know that we are!)

3 Tips for How to Find the Best Care for Hidden Diseases in Missouri

Drug addiction is often referred to as a “hidden disease” because in the early stages of addiction, drug or alcohol problems can be kept hidden from the rest of the world. As an addiction takes a hold of an addict, it often, but not always, becomes more obvious. This can manifest as a loss of employment, the breakdown of relationships, erratic or violent behavior, or even injury or death. But things don’t need to get to this bad for you to seek help. Early intervention or treatment can often prevent the downward spiral into these situations. Here are 3 tips to finding the best care in Missouri.

Healthy Homemade Pizza

Sometimes, you just want an easy, delicious recipe that won’t take forever and put on the pounds. Something you can just whip up and throw onto the stove or into the oven. And what’s better than PIZZA on the weekend?! However, this isn’t just your Dominoes-esque pizza–this is on the healthier side! We are using whole-wheat flour here, better for your insulin intake, and more fiber. The recipe for this healthy homemade pizza is simple. It’s a riff on one of my other homemade pizza recipes. It’s simple, you don’t need any yeast, and it can be made in less than thirty minutes. All you need is flour and cheese (basically).

3 Ideas on Creating a Versatile Home Gym for the Entire Family

Home gyms have become a popular household trend among many families. Having a home gym in your house shows that you are a person dedicated to fitness and health. In some cases, families who have no time to go to the gym or do not want to spend money on gyms follow this concept. They prefer a home gym because it is accessible and they can work out in peace and without distractions. They can hit the gym any time they want; no more waiting in line when you want to use equipment. It can also help you save money: rather than paying those monthly gym bills, you can just make your own gym at home. It doesn’t necessarily mean that you have to buy expensive equipment to match the quality that the gym provides, all you need is a creative mind and help from the internet to make your own equipment. Meditation for Peace

Life is tumultuous. It’s not easy and it’s certainly messy. Our own life can be stressful, and then add on all the events happening across the world. It’s hard to find clarity, balance, and peace among the mess. It’s hard to pause and take a moment to be, instead of stressing over this or over-thinking that. However, it’s paramount that we take a second and stop. We pull in the gratitude and focus on being in the present. We realize life’s not so bad and that perspective is important. I’ve designed this meditation to focus on peace. Try it out!
