Healthy Oatmeal Raisin Chia Cookies

I’ve been wanting to make some good oatmeal raisin cookies for a while now since we had some raisins in the pantry. After a recipe fail with some protein cookies, I was determined to make a great batch of cookies! After looking around the Internet for some inspiration, I stumbled upon this recipe and knew it was the one to base mine off of. Her recipe had flax seeds in it, but since Hungry is allergic to flax, I used chia seeds instead. This helped the cookies have a great texture and a good extra dose of protein. These oatmeal raisin chia cookies are healthy AND delicious! There is not much sugar in these, so no guilt necessary.

Universal Studios: What to Do and Not to Do

I challenged myself to write ten Yelp reviews a day… until I have no more reviews to write. The suggestions are based on your activity history and I’ve stumbled upon a time that I decided to check-in to everything that I went to at Universal one day. Baldwin Hills Scenic Overlook (Stairs Workout)

Since we live over on the West side of Los Angeles near Culver City now, it changes our “natural habitat.” When we used to live in West Hollywood, I would do Runyon Canyon all the time. Now, our go-to weekend spot is Will Rogers. However, there’s a great workout spot in Culver City-ish called the Baldwin Hills Scenic Overlook (also known as the Culver City Stairs). It’s a huge piece of land, with multiple sports fields, a dog park, play structures, rock wall, overlook areas, a museum, and a big ass hill. I’ve been going there for that big ass hill. It’s an incredible workout and just a 12 minute drive from our apartment.

Frostbeard Studio Candles: Coziness You Can Smell

My friends at work make fun of me all the time for my new-found love of candles. Well, maybe not that I just love candles, but my weird rules that I make up for using them. I like different candles for different seasons (usually just centered around Fall and Winter), but I also don’t put a candle away until it’s done–I must burn it all the way through! I had underestimated my winter candle’s length of burning time and I was two weeks late for my Spring candle I’ve been so excited about (weird, I know). I recently got into candles in the past year. I started out with normal candles you’d find at Marshall’s or whatnot, but I found a wealth of more fun-themed candles online. These include nerdy candles (duh, have you ever met me?!). I’ve found a particularly excellent collection over at Frostbeard Studio.
