This is an effort to help you realize that one thing matters when making proper French Toast. The difference maker is… ATTENTION. Tender love and care, if you will. If you’re lazy when you’re making it, your french toast will end up like the gross one below. If you’re into the process and taking care of it nonstop, it will look like the really pretty one! This is a very loose recipe, I don’t give specific measurements, but you’ll get the idea.
2016 was yet another year full of change and innovation. While there weren’t any revolutionary releases like the iPhone, we did see some crazy new ideas become popular. After buying hundreds of new products and reviewing many of those, we came up with a list of our three favorite products each of the year 2016, and put those together. See the list below:
1. Fresh Sugar (Rose) – Lip Care – Fit struggles with finding a product that actually keeps her lips moisturized and feeling healthy. She’s tried almost everything under the sun and while some products may feel good for a few minutes, she ends up feeling dry-lipped and chapped. Fresh Sugar (recommended by her wedding make-up artist) keeps her lips feeling moisturized and healthy for a few hours! It also gives her lip just a shade of color (though there are some without any color). It may be a little on the expensive side, but it actually works. It also has sunscreen in it! I’m not one to normally buy top-of-the-line beauty products, but this one helps me feel healthy throughout the day.
Kedi was an absolutely beautiful movie. The soundtrack was so well-integrated with the content of the film that you barely even noticed it was there. The acting was delightful because it was all about people being genuine. What makes that so interesting is the fact that it was set in Istanbul, where many of the viewers of the film probably haven’t been. The camera work and editing highlighted the stunning visual prowess and character of the city and its inhabitants. The most important citizens of Istanbul were the human and feline populations that seem to get along so naturally.
Kedi makes you think about our relationship with what Americans would call stray cats. They probably wouldn’t identify them as feral or alley cats because it’s just not the most common terminology among the general public nowadays. There’s a very negative connotation and feeling in many parts of our country about cats being out and about in the streets, but after watching Kedi one might wonder, why?
Ramen in LA is as common as concrete in K-town. It’s everywhere, and every single place, claims to be the best. Every single place has a cult following of people who will tell you the same. This happened when I went down to visit a friend who worked in Westchester and wanted to go to The Ramen Joint and I told her… this better be good.
We’re specifically addressing rust here. Say you’ve had a barbell outside for a while and it starts to rust–don’t throw it out! That would be wasteful and also hurt the bank! That’s why we want to show you how to clean a barbell, so you don’t feel like you have to toss it if it’s not looking the way you want it to. Not all barbells are created equal, so cleaning the inside after taking it apart can be a little different based on what you’re using. If you do, however, find your barbell starting to rust, here’s an easy and CHEAP way to take that rust off and make it look new again.
It’s never that simple. You’re giving the bird far too much credit. I know, I was the bird this morning and I failed to get all of the worms that surrounded me. How so? Here, I’ll tell you more.
If there was $20 dollar bill on the ground, would you pick it up? What if it was caught in a breeze and you had to chase it down the street? What if there were five of them moving in different directions? Is all that effort worth the reward for you? Maybe it is and maybe it isn’t, but if you’re the bird and those bills are the worms, you don’t JUST get them.
My boss has a big bounty of a garden and he generously brings in lots of different kinds of fruits. One of these fruits in which he brings surplus of is passion fruit! Passion fruit is such a treat because it’s not very common. The abundant amount of rain Southern California has received lately has helped more fruit, well, come to fruit. Passion fruit has a certain tropical flavor. It also absolutely looks like an alien fruit: it has a purple shell and inside, there are a bunch of green slime covered seeds. Sounds appetizing, right? Well, it’s actually super tasty and they’re only about 15 calories a pop!
My boss had brought in a large amount this time and I had quite a few sitting in my fridge. I didn’t want them to go bad, so I looked up passion fruit recipes and found this one. I altered it a little to have less sugar. A passion fruit pudding cake…full of moisture and flavor without being too sweet. Those who know me know that I’m not a huge cake fan, but this recipe is a cross between a pudding and a cake so I like it. It may look a little intimidating, but it’s quite simple to do. I’ve already baked it twice because it’s so delicious. It’s perfect for a guilt-free dessert because it’s so light, but also hits the spot because of its flavor and texture.
