Meditation for Positivity

In our hustle and bustle world, it’s easy to get down. It’s not always easy to get out of these feelings, so you get stuck in a negative bubble. Maybe you had a rough day at work, maybe you and your partner aren’t getting along, or maybe you’re just in some kind of funk. You may be working hard and getting nowhere, but staying in that foxhole of negativity is NOT going to help you in any part of your life. Try this meditation to keep your head up and your mind clear of negative distractions.

Find somewhere comfortable to sit or lay. Somewhere you won’t be distracted.

Close your eyes.

Listen to your breath. Feel the inhale and the exhale.

Feel what’s going on with your body.Maybe your tummy is grumbling or your shoulders are tight. Just check in.

Now start to count your breaths. Count to 3 while inhaling and to 3 while exhaling. Draw it out and focus on it.

Once you feel a little more relaxed, start to look internally to your emotions. How are you feeling?

Think of something positive. This could be anything. Breathe it in as you inhale.

Think of something negative. Whatever is dragging you down. Exhale it out, release it.

Keep doing this. Inhale the positive, exhale the negative.

Once you feel a little better and you’re ready to stop after a few minutes, let’s finish with 3 big exhales.

Take a deep breath and exhale out through your mouth, almost like a sigh. Repeat this twice more.

Feeling better? I am! We all have things that drag us down whether it’s work, sickness, or just feeling meh. This meditation is aimed to relieve some of that negativity and bring in the positivity to feed your soul. Your mental health is important to staying hungry and fit!

I love the fact that said “you’re ready to stop after a few minutes”–one of the things I find most intimidating about meditating is the length. I’ve tried a few times and 10 minutes seems to take FOREVER! It’s important to remember that just a few minutes can still be beneficial!

Yes!! Better to meditate for a small time than not at all!
