No Job Left Undone with SmartSwapp

Times are tough and it’s hard to say if there will be any changes to that soon. People are working full-time hours making $500 in two weeks. This might be reasonable for a high school student living with their parents, but with the increasing costs of college tuitions, you need to start working when you’re born to save up enough. Otherwise, you’ll get destroyed by student loans and end up paying ten of thousands in interest before paying off those four years of college. It’s a struggle for nearly every one of the 99%.

Most apps are giving you the opportunity to make a little (or a lot) extra on the side. Uber and Lyft have turned into full-time jobs for more than a handful of people, especially here in LA. I recently met a man who moved here from the midwest; his goal was to become a full-time Uber driver. While these sources of income are relatively consistent, if the app or service continues to stay in business and avoid legal issues, they’re increasingly competitive and therefore, often, underpaying.

While I’ll almost never discourage someone from doing something productive that they need or enjoy, I want to let everyone know that there are some other options. A wise person once told me to marry a doctor and have a best friend that’s a mechanic married to a lawyer, or something along those lines. I’m sure you’ve all heard your own version. You, in turn, would have to be working an equally useful job if you ever wanted to trade services with one another. You get the picture, right?

Here’s some advice that apparently is very relevant to those living in the Los Angeles county area. Purchase one of these. This way, you won’t have to pay some mechanic or dealership $100 to “diagnose” what’s wrong with your car. You can figure out what’s wrong yourself and then move forward with that information. Normally, you just have to replace your gas cap, which costs $10, so the $100 fee going to the repair will be a waste of $90. Or you could just have a friend that’s a mechanic and could do it for free, or dinner, or moving their lawn, or watching their kids.

Enter SmartSwapp, whose Kickstarter page will tell you much more about it and show you the perks of being one of the individuals to launch the service. This is a new app, that we aren’t affiliated with, but we support because of the cultural movement that it can create. We’re so consumer-centric; just look at Amazon and Black Friday. We’re always willing to spend the money that we don’t have to save some time; but what if you had the option to do it differently? Imagine the time and money you would end up saving by avoiding going to the car dealership or mechanic, or waiting for weeks for a plumber, etc.

Don’t get me wrong, I’m not saying that you should trust random people to do professional tasks, but think about everything that you are capable of doing but don’t do professionally because you don’t. It’s that simple and with the skills that we all have, we might just be able to save some money and time in these hard times. It’s like being part of a guild or something from a thousand years ago, but with such little technology, those societies (mostly) thrived and led us to where we are today. Just think about it because being resourceful is one way to be hungry and fit!
