Chocolate Banana Nut Protein Bars
Boy is this recipe a home run! I spent a good amount of time researching other protein bar recipes. Hungry had a great idea–we had some old bananas, so instead of banana bread, what if we made something fun like protein bars? We are always wanting more protein bars, and they can get expensive! This recipe is incredibly cheap to make (and easy). There are under ten ingredients and it is absolutely delicious. Nutritious and delicious–that’s my favorite kind of recipe. This one is fun because you can really have variety with it–you can substitute and switch out ingredients as you please. This recipe will have you gobbling down protein like no other!
- 1.5 bananas
- 1 cup chocolate protein powder
- 1/3 cup chopped almonds
- 1/4 cup honey
- 1 cup oats
- 1/2 cup peanut butter
- Pre-heat oven to 350 degrees F
- Chop nuts finely
- Mash bananas
- Mix all ingredients together
- Pour into 8×8 baking dish and smooth out
- Bake for 20-30 minutes
See? I told you it was super simple. You could use different flavor protein powder, different kind of nut, different kind of sugar source–make it your own! Get involved in the creative process of baking and you will be that much more satisfied with the product! Make it your protein bar and enjoy it! The macronutrients on these bars are also incredible. Under 150 calories with 8.5g protein! Pretty good snack, I think. Use this recipe to stay hungry and fit!
